In depth

Verdict

The veteran Colbert Station is on a very lowly mark if anywhere near his best though he's proved better over fences in his most recent starts. Positive Approach completed a double at the turn of the year but both victories were on heavy going. The lightly-raced Oscar Lantern is one to keep an eye on in the betting while Twiss's Hill has won his last two races in a canter. But the latter has a massive 14lb rise to overcome and both of his victories came on very testing going. STOLBERG is a progressive type though he's another who has done best when the mud was flying but, in the hope he can handle the conditions, he's handed the vote. Toon River and top weight Captainofthefleet are both capable of winning good races though the ground could prove a bit lively.
