This hasn't proved much of a classic trial in recent years though Dermot Weld has won it twice with the classy pair Grey Swallow and Famous Name. He runs Go For Goal this time and he has a fitness advantage having carried a big weight with distinction in a handicap at the Curragh last week. Ebanoran is out of an Irish Oaks winner so did well to score over 7f on his debut at the Curragh in October. Shining Emerald is undoubtedly the pick of those who have run having completed a double then finished a close third to the Ballydoyle pair Craftsman and Michaelmas in a Group 3 here in October. The latter's yard is represented by Buonarroti, a very easy maiden winner at Tipperary before attempting to make all in the Racing Post Trophy, and INDIAN MAHARAJA, who was put away for the season after completing a double in a Listed race at Tipperary. The latter is an exciting prospect and looks the one to be on.
