Drumconnor Lad won a point on heavy ground at Necarne in May in the style of a smart performer while Ballyward has joined the champion trainer after a promising run at Tyrella in March. Noel Meade has a good record in this and Minella Fair has shown enough in his two bumpers at Navan to suggest he'll be thereabouts again while Caltex will be better for his run at Fairyhouse earlier this month though was beaten a long way. Dermot Weld often unleashes a decent bumper at this time of year and SCARTEEN could fit the bill. He was trained by John Ferguson when runner-up at Market Rasen in November of last year and looks just the type his handler does so well with.
