Joshua Lane didn't win in three bumper starts but was placed in a Listed race at Ascot and the championship event at Cheltenham. He has all the attributes to make a smart hurdler but the lack of a recent run and experience over timber could hand the initiative to VELVET MAKER. Tony Martin's charge, a winning bumper in France, made a fine debut over hurdles behind Vautour at Navan a year ago and reappeared with a fair run behind Rock The World at Down Royal last month where he pulled too hard.
