SHINING EMERALD announced his presence in no uncertain terms when landing a Listowel maiden on heavy ground by 16 lengths. He showed it was no fluke when winning a Listed race at the Curragh last month and can take this step up in grade in his stride. Lanyard also gained a wide-margin success on heavy going at Listowel and there's plenty more to come from Dermot Weld's filly but Craftsman looks to have more to do than when runner-up in a Naas handicap on Sunday so Michaelmas, who takes a step up in trip after scoring over 5f at the Curragh, looks best of the Ballydoyle duo.
