Dermot Weld won this three times with Famous Name and relies on VOTE OFTEN this time. She beat Beyond Brilliance easily on her second start last October and landed a Group 3 on her reappearance but hasn't been seen since third in the Irish 1000 Guineas in May. That was a cracking effort and she's unlikely to be wanting for fitness so should be good enough. Her stable companion Starlet easily landed a maiden on soft ground here in July and started favourite for a York Group 3 but ran no sort of race and finished last. She's much better than that but Afonso De Sousa has shown his best form on Polytrack though has been mainly disappointing. Theophilus made her debut on heavy going at Gowran in April and could hardly have been more impressive. It's a concern that she hasn't been seen subsequently and Jim Bolger also runs Answered, who looks a real soft-ground specialist. He made a successful debut at the Curragh before twice finishing behind Fascinating Rock at Group 3 level. Ebasani was well behind in the first of those races but at least has the benefit of a recent run having beaten three rivals at Tipperary in August.
