Verdict

This has proved to be one of the most informative contests of recent years and been won by a host of top-class performers including Rip Van Winkle, New Approach and Teofilio. Aidan O'Brien has won the last three renewals and Jim Bolger the previous three and both are double-handed this time. Parish Hall looks comfortably the pick of the Bolger pair having made a sparkling debut here in April when subsequent winners Raphael Santi and Requinto occupied the places. TENTH STAR beat two Bolger runners easily in a Listed contest over the C&D last month and has improved gradually with each run. He may just have too much experience for Parish Hall this time and gets the vote. His overall form is stronger than that of Orchestra Leader, though the latter looked as though another furlong would suit when scoring over 6f at Navan while Remember Alexander disappointed at the Curragh last time after a promising start there.
