Dermot Weld has a fine record in this but Rock Critic doesn't look good enough. Three-year-olds have won seven of the last ten and are strongly represented this time. TAKAR won the softest Group 3 of the season at the Curragh last month but an earlier Listed success over this C&D suggests he will be up to taking this. Requisition has only had four runs but is progressing rapidly as he showed when landing a Curragh Listed contest last time. This is a step up in grade but it shouldn't prove beyond him and he should be thereabouts. Duntle landed the Listed Sandringham Handicap at Royal Ascot in the style of a filly going places and she has to be on the short-list with her allowances while David O'Meara wouldn't send the classy Penitent here without a chance, though a Group 2 penalty for landing the bet365 Mile at Sandown gives him a difficult task.
