Aidan O'Brien has won this six times in the last 10 years and will be long odds-on to make it seven with half of this disappointing turnout running for Balydoyle. Johnny Murtagh has chosen MIDAS TOUCH over At First Sight and not surprisingly his mount is entered in all the big races. He couldn't cope with stablemate Jan Vermeer in the Criterium at Saint-Cloud on his final start but had looked a nice prospect when scoring easily here in October. At First Sight has the advantage of a run this season having been touched off by Puncher Clynch in a Group 3 here last month when polytrack winner Address Unknown wasn't far behind. That form doesn't look quite up to this standard and the progressive Reiteration, a convincing winner over Buy Back Bob at Gowran on Sunday, may pose more of a threat.
Address Unknown 10-1 (9-1) Held up on inner, close 5th entering straight, ridden and closed on heels of leaders 2f out, blocked and unable to find racing room from over 1f out, 5th of 8, 1 3/4l behind Puncher Clynch (9-1) at Leopardstown 1m 2f 3yo Grp 3 gf in Apr.
At First Sight (IRE) 10-1 (9-1) Led, ridden entering straight, headed narrowly 2f out, kept on well final furlong, just failed, 2nd of 8, shd behind Puncher Clynch (9-1) at Leopardstown 1m 2f 3yo Grp 3 gf in Apr.
