In depth

Verdict

Timmy Murphy gave JESSIES DREAM a superb ride when landing the Grade 1 Drinmore Novice Chase at Fairyhouse, a first-ever win at that level for Gordon Elliott. It's unlikely he would have beaten Mikael D'Hageunet if the latter hadn't fallen at the last but he had some decent opposition toiling and a penalty shouldn't prevent a follow up. Bob Lingo fell when weakening in that event but has since made all for a very easy victory at Fairyhouse. Elysian Rock found Grade 1 company and three miles far too much for him here but Western Charmer produced his best run to date in that contest and will have no problems stepping down in trip. The latter looks better than stablemate Magnanimity, who scrambled home in a moderate contest at Punchestown in November.
