Jim Bolger is striking while the iron is hot with CUBAN SURFER, who arrives with a 6lb penalty for an easy victory in a Naas apprentice contest on Sunday. This will be his first start over a trip this far but he wasn't stopping at Naas and Gavin Ryan, who rode him that day, can use his full claim. He should again take care of third-placed Earl Of Bunnacurry while Dromana went up 7lb for her Limerick victory and, though continuing to run well, may be a few pounds high. Sbraase is another making a quick reappearance after a fine effort over 1m6f on soft going at the Curragh on Sunday but he could do with plenty of rain. Chaparral Dream had been running well over hurdles before a very good effort behind the prolific One Cool Poet at Galway.
