After a quiet time Hale Bopp came right back to form off his reduced handicap mark to score in emphatic style at Naas over a mile. He's the choice of Colin Keane and the additional furlong here should not be an issue. The assessor has responded by hiking him back up 6lb but he looks a main contender. CHICAGO BEAR (NAP) is the other last-time winner in the line-up, having landed a 26-runner Curragh handicap. He's also gone well in two other large-field handicaps and is going the right way. A 5lb rise for that recent victory seems fair. Jungle Cove has gone well here the last twice and River Derwent has claims if forgiven a poor recent effort.
