In depth

Verdict

The winner of seven races in the last two years, Captain's Log has more than paid his way, but surprisingly those wins were either in claimers or classified races. He hasn't won a handicap since June 2000, off a mark of 75, so he would appear well treated. Azur is capable of a bold show off this mark as is Zagaleta, who is only 2lb higher than her last winning mark. This represents a drop in class for Shirazi, but her yard has yet to hit top form this term, while the old man of the party Missile Toe is another to consider.
