Verdict

This looks a very open contest, with quantity rather than quality on show, and so a fairly tentative selection is Liberty Valance, ahead of Red Rouge and Moosley. The pick's best work has come on the all weather, but the ground shouldn't be an inconvenience here, what might be is a low draw. He does have the highest official rating too. Red Rouge has been placed on half her 6 outings, including last week in a seller here when she was headed in the final furlong. Moosley's been off the track since December when finishing runner up after going off as favourite on his debut, but if ready for a return can have a say in the outcome. It's not a race to get terribly excited about and a bit of a pin-sticker given the lack of quality and consistency, so only a nominal amount of confidence behind the selection, which is Liberty Valance.
