MAHANAKHON needed every yard of the 7f at Wetherby to get his head in front and steps back up in trip for his handicap debut. Both placed horses at Wetherby have subsequently won so Tim Easterby’s charge gets the nod on that form with William Buick taking over the reins. He’s preferred to stablemate Roach Power but Sly Madam looks a threat down in class after a decent effort at Ascot. Francesi has shown a preference for the all-weather so far but Double Time, who has won three times on artificial surfaces, has raced just the once on Turf and makes more appeal.
