Ian Williams sets a poser here saddling Mandarin, well backed last time at Yarmouth last time, under Silvestre De Sousa, and Paddy The Chef, who is fit from hurdling, under Jim Crowley. The latter had some decent form on similar going last season and could be well treated while Allegiant found only one too good at Windsor. VICTORY CHIME will be all the better for his run at Windsor and was in decent form around this time last year. Though he’s probably high enough in the weights, Ralph Beckett’s charge should give a good account. Nightingale Valley will have stamina to prove with his victory at Nottingham coming on soft going.
