In depth

Verdict

HASTHING won two bumpers in France before beaten a length by Farnage, a debut winner over hurdles next time, in a Uttoxeter bumper then was narrowly beaten into third in an Aintree Grade 2. He looks an exciting prospect for hurdling. Winning point-to-pointer Fortuitous Find was beaten a long way on his hurdling debut at Doncaster but Globe Player was in touch for a long way at Huntingdon. Rocket Ronald has a fine pedigree and cost €92,000 as a foal.
