Bin Singspiel's run of placed efforts came to an abrupt end over this trip at Musselburgh and he looks exposed now. BATTALION was always struggling on debut at Chester after missing the break but, to his credit, recovered to hold every chance before being hampered on the final turn. That will have taught him plenty and he should take all the beating in this small field. Shababeek, fourth under a hands and heels ride over a mile at Salisbury in the autumn, has bags of scope and will be winning soon while both Perfect Spell and Madame Vestris should leave their debut efforts behind in time.
