Ashdown Lad, a winner on the Flat here in May, has steadily improved over timber and makes his handicap debut after landing a maiden at Plumpton. ZAFRANAGAR was well supported in a similar class race to this on his reappearance at Wetherby and though having every chance he faded from the last. He returned there on Saturday and was beaten a short-head by Zaplamation so looks the one to beat. Canadian Diamond ran his best race to date when runner-up at Cheltenham last month and has to be respected as he's only 3lb higher than for his latest success and though Santo Thomas is returning from a very long break his stable is quite capable of getting one ready. Travis County is still a maiden over hurdles but has gone close on a couple of occasions and is one to keep an eye on.
