Verdict

Charlie Appleby sent out last year’s winner and HIGHBANK looks the one to beat despite a penalty. Rated 96 after finishing runner-up in a conditions' race, the Newmarket maiden winner gets the vote. Utilis has a bit to find with the selection on these terms but Escarpment showed some promise at Headquarters on his debut. Caragio was narrowly beaten at Newbury last month while 150,000gns purchase Flight Plan is preferred to Golden Move of the remainder.
