        Verdict

        HELL OF A LORD drops in class after another poor effort when well beaten at Doncaster. But his best form of last year was a third at Chester, his only previous start in soft ground, and Bill Turner's charge gets the nod on that form. Special Code has only raced on the all-weather so far but has a bit in hand on today's terms with the remainder. Wolverhampton winner Robin Hill made the frame at Lingfield last time, as did Margot Rose, who finished a couple of lengths ahead of Masipa.
