      Verdict

      GOLDEN MAVERICK makes much appeal from the bottom of the handicap. He's enjoyed a good time of things this season, winning twice, and took another step forward last time when runner-up at Newmarket after being upped to this trip for the first time. Nudged up another 1lb as a result, a similar performance would make him the one to beat. Overactive remains a maiden but has only had five runs and there may be better to come - and the assessor has dropped him 4lb for his last two runs. Measured Moments could prove a stronger threat though if bringing his all-weather form to the table. He's been lightly-raced this year and the market should inform as to expectations, especially as he's shown little in two starts on the grass.
