    Verdict

    BIRTH OF VENUS was engaged in the 5.10 here yesterday so the result should be monitored though he looked very progressive when beating Dawn Hoofer at Gowran. Remmy D was a long way behind that winner at the Curragh later and looks held on collateral form but California Jumbo has shown plenty of potential over a mile and makes his handicap debut over this longer trip. His pedigree suggests he should be suited as should Rockabill, another making his handicap debut after showing promise in maidens.
