MARCHESE MARCONI has a stamina-packed pedigree and has entries in the Coronation Cup and Ascot Gold Cup. She's been brought along quietly but looked a very nice staying prospect on heavy ground at Limerick and will take some beating. Defence Of Duress has only won once on the level but was beaten a head in the Goodwood Stakes over 2m5f in August. He scored over hurdles subsequently and is a decent stayer in the making though hasn't been seen since October. Lady Imola had some reasonable form last season but was beaten a long way on her reappearance at Clonmel so Auden, a winner in 2010 for Godolphin, may be more of a threat as he was racing over a trip much too short on his belated return to action at Tipperary.
