Captain's Pick was well supported at Cork and, though never getting into contention, stayed on late so should do better. Megansue is bred for much further but would be interesting if attracting support while Mother's Gift didn't get the clearest of runs at Ballinrobe. MINELLA DIAMOND had no answer to the odds-on Zaidi at Thurles but finished just in front of Naruto, who then beat Minella Mate just under two lengths at Killarney. There's little between them on collateral form though Bill Lanigan's charge just comes out best.
