In depth

Verdict

Pakens Rock completed a course and distance double in mid-summer and was taking on very much better class when well beaten at Galway. The Dara Man was conceding him 6lb when beaten half-a-length in June and will be receiving a pound here so should turn the tables. Irish Blaze stayed on strongly to score over slightly shorter at Downpatrick though Top Line Tommy was in the lead when falling at the last. Easy Tramore novice winner Rotten Row would have gone close on a return visit but for a last-fence blunder. ESPION DU CHENET (NAP) is on a long losing run but has mainly been racing in much stronger company and has dropped to a winnable mark
