Verdict

Musselburgh winner Sky Defender never looked like shrugging off a penalty at Catterick last time. He may do better over this longer trip but IDEOLOGICAL made a bold bid when beaten only a neck at Newcastle a week ago having scored over track and trip on an earlier debut. Roger Varian’s filly gets another chance in a weak-looking contest. Victoriano showed no progress on his latest outing but the likes of Willkommen and Twenty Years On can only improve - the newcomers make little appeal, however.
