Bagan couldn't have been anymore impressive at Ludlow last time and is taken to follow up here at the expense of Manx Royal and Mr President.Charlie Mann's entire was rated in the high-eighties on the level and following a promising outing at Bangor, slaughtered a decent looking field in that Ludlow contest. He is entitled to improve on that effort and he looks to have a good chance of making it back to back victories. Manx Royal won a couple of novice hurdles before having his limitations exposed in a listed event at Sandown. Back in novice company today he must have great chance and rates a big danger to the selection. Mr President was only an 8/1 chance when finishing in mid-division in the Lanzarote Handicap here at Kempton and is another that should benefit from this drop in class. 2003 King George winner Edredon Bleu and the Nicky Henderson newcomer The Grocers Curate add even more interest to a fascinating opener that may fall to the progressive Bagan
