      Verdict

      Clock Opera failed to land the odds when runner-up at Wolverhampton last time and the winner has since been well beaten. She should make a bold bid nevertheless but SAND BOY is expected to improve past her. The latter was having his first start since July when third at Lingfield earlier this month and Charlie Hills' colt will have come on for that pipe-opener. Batchworth Lady is going the right way with a second over course and distance last time and makes more appeal than Quelle Affaire and Bonbon Bonnie, who have shown little so far.
