Verdict

Cap Du Nord, one of three representing Christian Williams, is handicapped to go close having finished fourth in a Listed race at Wincanton last month when 2lb higher. Morning Vicar has yet to prove his stamina over this trip and Kauto The King is also better over shorter but Flegmatik clearly needed the run at Ascot last month. He’s had wind surgery since and this is a more suitable distance so he should go well off bottom weight but FORTESCUE ran better than the final results suggests in the Ladbrokes Trophy at Newbury and this is more his level.
