In depth

Verdict

Plenty with claims including Rosarno and Najashee, who will both be sharper for recent comeback runs. Ptarmigan Ridge was runner-up over 7f here last time and Pike Corner Cross showed signs of a resurgence over track and trip a fortnight ago. Sergio Leone could figure stepping up in distance today and Dark Crocodile could go well on his handicap debut. But SIR PLATO arrives in the best form having won at Bath before going close again at Windsor and he gets the gets the nod having also scored over course and distance in the past.
