Verdict

Kerada's likely absence appears to have left the way clear for CAPTAIN CHRIS to open his account over fences. Unlucky to come up against Ghizao in his first two starts over the larger obstacles, he made the classy Medermit pull out all the stops in the Grade 1 Scilly Isles Novices' Chase at Sandown three weeks ago and gets 4lb from Adams Island, who disappointed when tried in handicap company over a longer trip at Ffos Las. American Trilogy was ridden with plenty of confidence when coming good over C&D earlier in the month and is a lot more relaxed nowadays but will need further improvement to follow up today.
