This looks a good opportunity for SPINNING SPIRIT who is taken to get the better of Blue Lyric and Admiral Cochrane. James Given's juvenile ran his best race yet at Southwell last month when he finished third behind Imjin River. He showed enough that day to suggest that his turn would not be far away and with the draw also in his favour he is given the nod. Blue Lyric has shaped with promise on her three runs in maiden company and she has the added bonus of Keiren Fallon doing the steering. Luca Cumani has his string in reasonable form but her low draw has not done her any favours. Admiral Cochrane went close here last month and he was a little unlucky last time at Southwell when he lost ground coming out of the stalls. He ran on in a pleasing fashion that day so it would not be a surprise to see him make the frame. Captain Cool is clearly not a stable star for Richard Hannon but he wasn't beaten all that far at Brighton last month and he could be a player if he handles the surface on his all-weather debut. Phoenix Rose has a good draw and could have an each-way shout, but we prefer the claims of Spinning Spirit who gets our vote.
