Barking Mad won a lower grade contest over track and trip a fortnight ago but Shine On Brendan is less exposed and goes handicapping for the first time having finished second in all three starts in novice company. Lethal Shadow is another with plenty of scope but PHUKET POWER is preferred. The latter found a mile at Wolverhampton beyond him in a tougher contest than this last time but beat Lottie Marie, who runs earlier on today’s card, over course and distance before that and gets another chance in this. Speed Merchant should show further progress this year but London Calling seems to be treading water off his current mark.
