      Verdict

What A Welcome ended last season beating Never Surrender over today’s trip at Ascot though the latter re-opposes on better terms. But CAYIRLI won last year’s renewal off a higher mark with Gavlar back in third and Seamus Durack’s charge is taken to make another bold bid arriving on the back of a convincing victory over track and trip in February. Eden Rose won a lower grade contest at Lingfield last month but Cosmelli is preferred after going close at Newcastle recently. The frustrating Sharja Silk is proving hard to win with and steps up in trip on his return having been gelded while Fibonacci and Cliffs Of Dooneen remain unexposed with the latter debuting for new connections having won over 2m at the Curragh for Aidan O’Brien last year.
