Nick Vedder and UMMSUQUAIM were both denied winning opportunities when Saturday’s all-weather meetings fell victim to the weather. The latter was in good form here at the start of the year and opened his account when upped in trip at Lingfield last month – he can defy a 3lb rise. Bond Spirit has been running better than form figures would suggest but Uther Pendragon carries a double penalty for victories at Lingfield and Southwell. Last month’s third at Lingfield also brings Miss Elsa into contention.
