        Verdict

        MAGIC MINSTREL makes plenty of appeal. He was having only his second start when beaten less than a length over C&D last month and Andrew Balding's charge can go one better with normal improvement. Our Play produced a better effort on his seasonal debut at Newmarket in June, but has been off the track since and steps up in trip, while French import Winning Spark has placed form on the all-weather at Deauville and can figure after a couple of outings on turf for Gary Moore. Ultimate Best has a bit to find with the selection on earlier form and showed little improvement when runner-up here last time.
