In depth

Verdict

Rectory Road struggled under a penalty last time having won over a mile here earlier. It remains to be seen if Engrossed fares any better penalised for scoring at Wolverhampton last month while Shanghai Grace and Fume are closely matched on handicap ratings with the former preferred. But ALATIA is the one to beat if running anywhere near an official mark of 89 and Jo Hughes’ charge gets the nod, despite returning from an absence, having competed in Listed company in France when last in action. Fiction Writer disappointed at Newcastle recently but Kingdom Of Dubai and Crown Of Flowers look likely improvers for powerful yards.
