        Verdict

        Could Be was well beaten in a handicap at Yarmouth last month but has been placed twice over this trip, including once around here. He has to go on the short-list along with the four-year-old Poyle Thomas, not disgraced on his belated debut at Sandown. But NELLIE FORBUSH should find this easier than the fillies' maiden she contested at Newmarket and she was third over a slightly shorter trip here on her debut. Ardaal may be capable of better but hasn't shown a great deal so far.
