In depth

Verdict

Rio's Cliffs stays this trip but both victories so far have come over shorter. Pendo is 0-8 on this track but stablemate Berrahri is a previous course and distance winner, though hasn’t raced since July. Miracle Ninetynine ran well at Chelmsford on his first start for new connections and should appreciate the extra furlong while a case can also be made for the now-blinkered Starboard and Chelmsford runner-up Squire but Baltic Prince was beaten in a lower grade last time. NOBLE STAR (NAP) makes his handicap debut and a mark of 77 looks more than fair given his untapped potential. Fourth in a hot Newmarket maiden on his only start on Turf last year, he reappeared with an effortless victory at Newcastle in November and has been crying out for this extra furlong.
