The step up in trip may enable Ernmoor to shed his maiden tag with Come What July and Rebel Raider prominent amongst the dangers. The selection has been in good form of late, making the frame on each of his last four starts. They have all been in similar contests at this venue over ten and eleven furlongs and the way that he has been finishing suggests that the twelfth furlong could prove key. Come What July hasn't won since 2005 but he continues to perform with credit and it would be no surprise to see him finish there or thereabouts once again and he may be able to get his head in front again one of these days. Rebel Raider was struggling over hurdles but got back to winning ways over an extended 2 miles at Wolverhampton in a first time visor last time. This is a marked drop in trip but he's run well enough at this distance before so it shouldn't be a problem. However, we'll take Ernmoor to gain that elusive success.
