In depth

Verdict

Apache Ridge and The Jailer both won on turf last time out but they act better on that surface than the all-weather, so C'Mon You Irons who won when last seen here may be a bigger threat. Although he has since finished a long way behind the winner at Leicester, Mark Hoad will hope he can win again off a 4lb higher rating on the artificial than his last win. The heavily raced DVINSKY has to be respected and gets the vote. Seven furlongs hasn't suited in his last two runs but with a furlong less to travel here and off a realistic mark he looks a decent bet. Charlie Delta is 2lb lower than his last winning mark on the artificial but is bang out of form and is readily avoided whilst Maoi Chinn Tire may be capable of better but he has gone backwards a little after a good start to the year. He was seven lengths behind the victor last time out and isn't fancied. Lodi runs off his lowest career mark and an interesting jockey booking means a market check is advised.
