Verdict

First Emperor arrives in good form having finished in front of both Diamond Bay and Smart Champion when placed here a week ago and beating Military Two Step when scoring over track and trip before that. Several have lengthy absences to overcome including De Vega's Warrior, East Asia and GOLDEN RULES. The latter was last seen finishing fourth in the Ascot Stakes in 2021 but has switched yards since and Oisin Murphy’s presence suggests he’ll be ready for action.
