Glenridding has more scope for improvement than the majority of his main rivals and gets the nod over Charlottebutterfly, Shunkawakhan and Bowl Of Cherries. The last named goes well here and is suited by the trip. However, his last three starts have been below par and he needs to pull something out of the hat tonight. Shunkawakhan is a long standing maiden and has something to prove regarding the trip. However, this is ordinary fare and, as he has a good record of making the frame, he is no forlorn hope. Charlottebutterfly, on the other hand, came good from a poor draw last time out and has to be shortlist material. The seven-year-old has nothing to fear about the trip and will be a tough customer to deal with. Nevertheless, the lightly raced Glenridding comes here on the back of her best ever performance and, as Tom Quealy knows her well, this looks to be the right time for her to strike.
