Mr Knightley got the better of odds-on favourite Hurricane Spirit over 7f here last week despite the unfavourable terms. Both are course and distance winners so it's anybody's guess which one will prevail today. Hurricane Spirit had earlier beaten OFFICER IN COMMAND over track and trip and the latter gets a tentative vote to reverse running as he's much better off at the weights. Benandonner and Alhaban are capable at this level but are not particularly well treated in a tight contest.
Benandonner (USA) 10-1 (9-11) Tracked leader until 3f out, soon ridden, stayed on same pace, went 2nd well inside final furlong, no chance with winner, 2nd of 4, 4l behind Saharia (9-11) at Lingfield 1m clm stks (6) pol.
Mr Knightley (IRE) 12-1 (8-13) Last to break, held up, closed over 2f out, switched left over 1f out, led well inside final furlong, ran on, won at Kempton 7f clm stks 0-75 (6) pol beating Hurricane Spirit (8-2) by 1 1/2l, 5 ran.
Alhaban (IRE) 9-1 (8-9) Prominent, led over 1f out, headed inside final furlong, no extra, 5th of 6, 2 3/4l behind Rakaan (9-5) at Wolverhampton 1m 1f clm stks (5) pol.
Officer In Command (USA) 9-4 (8-13) Tracked leaders, pushed along over 4f out, driven to chase winner over 1f out, stayed on inside final furlong, always looked held, 2nd of 3, 3/4l behind Hurricane Spirit (8-7) at Kempton 1m clm stks (6) pol in Mar.
Hurricane Spirit (IRE) 8-11fav (8-2) Shared 2nd behind clear leader, closed 3f out, led over 1f out, headed well inside final furlong, held towards finish, 2nd of 5, 1 1/2l behind Mr Knightley (8-13) at Kempton 7f clm stks 0-75 (6) pol.
