The feature contest of the evening with six last time out winners lining up. GLOBAL, the winner of a muddling four runner event at Lingfield on his second start can win it; Blue Tango and Holberg look those most likely to trouble him. Cynics will state that Global did receive the run of the race last time, quickening from the front in a slowly run race. Not seen until mid-November which was rather unusual given the frequency at which this yard introduced juveniles throughout the course of the year, Global has been given time and connections patience can be rewarded. One mile looks to be Blue Tango's minimum trip. He was surprisingly held-up last time and if ridden more prominently today, he should be thereabouts. Holberg is one of the more likely pace setters in the race. He showed good battling qualities to win at Southwell over a trip that would have been shorter than ideal. Reverting to polytrack should be more in his favour. Double Act caused a minor surprise when leaving his two previous outings well behind to land a Lingfield maiden on his latest start. A first time tongue-tie was applied there and remains intact. It did not look a strong maiden and the handicapper has taken few chances with him by alloting him a mark of 79. My Best Bet was very much suited by the fast pace which materialised when scoring on her last start. Highland River received a well judged ride when scoring over course and distance. He could still be well handicapped off his current rating given the fact he seems to be gradually improving. Global is selected to follow-up his Lingfield victory of last time.
