In depth

Verdict

Afjaan beat Pensax Boy, rated 77, in a Beverley maiden last month and looks on a fair mark for his handicap debut. NATURAL NINE also won a maiden at Beverley back in June and was having his first start since when placed in this grade at Chelmsford recently. The Roger Varian runner may just edge this with Second Wave another to consider back on the all weather having been a losing favourite at Newbury last time. Fruity has failed to threaten since scoring at Leicester during the summer and Cascading Stars has crept up the weights despite not winning.
