    Verdict

Summer Winds makes his handicap debut here after justifying strong market support to land a Lingfield maiden last month. It is easy to doubt the worth of that maiden after the protagonists finished in quite a clutter but there was a lot to like about the manner in which he went about his race for one so inexperienced. He is open to plenty of improvement although the handicapper has not taken any chances allotting him a mark of 75. Animator and Warming Up appear the obvious dangers to Summer Winds. Animator was last seen landing a weak nursery off 68 but the lack of a recent outing would be the concern. The Paul Cole yard has had some recent winners of late suggesting he has his charges forward for upcoming events. Warming won by the narrowest of margins recently in an ordinary contest, beating a rival who has since failed to frank the form. Summer Winds lacks the experience but the manner in which he landed his maiden suggested more was to come. He is the pick.
