towards rear, headway 12th, outpaced before 4 out, stayed on again from 2 out, took 3rd towards finish
in touch, chased leaders before 15th, kept on same pace from 2 out, beaten when blundered last
led to 1st, tracked leader afterwards, disputed lead 3 out, led approaching 2 out, soon clear, pushed out, readily
held up, weakened 12th, soon well behind, tailed off
pulled hard in rear, fell 10th
held up, headway 14th, in touch when blundered 15th, stayed on to take 2nd last, no chance with winner
towards rear when fell 5th
jumped well, led 2nd, headed before 2 out, one pace approaching last
Another intriguing event. Jaybejay improved for the step up to this kind of trip at Wincanton last time and, still lightly raced, will play a leading part again. Nicky Henderson runs Scots Grey, far from disgraced behind very useful novices Tarxien and Jair du Cochet on his last two runs. Roveretto comes here on a three-timer and has 5lbs taken off his back by a useful claimer. Winning hurdler, Indeed, fell in Jaybejay's Wincanton race. Winning hurdler Stormy Skye has shown promise in three chase efforts but others are much preferred. Uncle Wallace was just over eight lengths behind Jaybejay at Wincanton so is entitled to consideration but I feel that the form will be upheld. Bits of his hurdling form read pretty well also so he should find his race in time. Because he might just represent some value in the race, Jaybejay is taken to keep on improving and win again.
