A typically competitive renewal of this valuable contest with a number of possibles not least the hat-trick seeking Duke Of Modena. Toby Balding's charge had several of today's rivals behind when narrowly winning at Sandown last month and must go close again off just a 3lb higher mark. The Judge is held on that form but he was never able to dominate and is better than the bare form suggests but may struggle once again from his low draw. Nimello took this twelve months ago but has failed to recapture his best of late and still looks plenty high enough at the weights while recent Brighton winner Indian Plume will find this tougher. Putra pekan was generally progressive last term and, along with Top Dirham, is capable of going close if fully wound up for this return but marginal preference is for Nose The Trade. Jamie Osborne's four-year-old has proved a tough and genuine performer and goes well in a large field as he showed when a staying-on third in the Victoria Cup last week. The extra furlong will ensure a bold show from the son of Cyrano De Bergerac.
